Abstract:
Although the existence of nanobubbles and surface attached nanobubbles is still a subject of debate, there are common methods and numerous studies for the generation of surface attached nanobubbles. A common generation method is mixing of ethanol and water to create a gas supersaturation.Oily contaminations from a wide variety of sources can easily be mistaken for the actual desired bubbles. Different tools like an optical tweezer, laser-generated bubbles, lipophilic fluorescent dye and local heating by laser are used to distinguish between drops and bubbles in a micofluidic setup with optical high-speed observations at the resolution limit.
