Abstract: In the presented work, vibroacoustic metamaterials are designed and validated for application in a vibroacoustic-optimized vehicle door, focusing on a design suitable for production. This requires an efficient vibration reduction in the frequency range around 500 Hz with an aim to overcome limitations of existing solutions. Thus, metamaterial designs suitable for a mass production and exhibiting strong stopband behaviour are needed. In this work, different concepts for the implementation of local resonant structures to compose vibroacoustic metamaterials are developed with respect to an economical and production-suited manufacturing. The proposed concepts and manufacturing techniques are initially tested on metallic plate demonstrators in different configurations. For an experimental validation, specific transfer functions are measured using a laser vibrometer. For the proposed concepts, stopbands are found in the intended frequency region. The gained knowledge will be used to develop a vibration-optimized vehicle door.
