Abstract: In the course of the project WEA-Akzeptanz, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, interdisciplinary approaches for the analysis and modeling of the meteorology-dependent propagation of acoustic emissions from wind turbines were investigated in a cooperation of different institutes of Leibniz University Hannover. At the end of this model chain, an objectified estimation of the annoyance of acoustic immissions was developed at the Institute of Communications Technology. For that, a framework for extracting signal parameters relevant in terms of perception was developed within the scope of our investigations. The parameters of this analysis were then used together with the results of listening tests to realize a prediction of the annoyance perceived by test persons via a neural network. This paper presents the approach of the project including the subject studies conducted, describes the framework for signal analysis, and presents the methodology used to train the annoyance model. The results obtained are presented and discussed, and the limitations of the methodology are identified.
