Abstract: The first lock-down caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in April 2020 lead to large reduction in traffic. A permanent mesaurement point at Zederhaus at the Austrian motorway A10 showed that the traffic has been reduced by 50% during the lock-down. The measuement device recorded the noise level in 1/2 hour intervals. From the weekly travel it was found that the reduction is the same during working days and weekends only the amount has changed. From the noise exposure the traffic reduction was estimated assuming that the velocity of the cars was the same and that the mixture between cars and trucks did not change.
